Support the College
As the College of Arts and Sciences seeks to increase research visibility and strengthen student education, Donald E. Hall, Herbert and Ann Siegel Dean, has identified a number of priorities to help the College move toward these goals while maintaining its long-standing reputation for excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and exceptional research. A unifying theme for the college is translating theory into practice—recognition of the power of ideas to transform lives and the world we live in, to transform knowledge into action. The College supports, mentors and inspires students, staff, and faculty to think critically and creatively, to confront challenges boldly, and to be ambitious in their professional and personal goals. Strategic investment in the college will help heighten Lehigh's reputation for excellence in arts and sciences, enhancing Lehigh's reputation as a premiere university.
Establishing Lehigh's Reputation for Excellence in Arts and Sciences

Robust and vibrant programming and curricula in the arts and sciences are essential to Lehigh's reputation as a leading university. Excellence in teaching, research, and artistic activities is our mission. A world-class faculty is central to realizing our vision. The College’s top priorities to support achievement of the highest levels of success in five key areas:

Recruitment, support, and retention of a diverse, ambitious, and globally engaged faculty;
Promotion of the national and international profile of our research, scholarship, and creative activity;
Commitment to outstanding undergraduate education with emphases on interdisciplinary perspectives, student research opportunities, and international experiences;
Development of and support for acclaimed graduate programs in fields of national and international need; and
Nurturance of multifaceted partnerships with—and an enduring, positive impact on—the local community.
