McNair Scholars in the College of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences offers a $75 graduate application fee waiver to all McNair scholars.
In addition, several graduate funding awards are available to McNair eligible students. If you are, a first-generation college student with financial need, or a member of a group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education you may apply these awards. McNair Scholars automatically qualify to apply.
Each year the college will offer one Dean's Fellowship to a student from this group. This fellowship provides full tuition and a stipend of approximately $19,000 for the year. It is renewable for a second year contingent upon satisfactory performance in the program. The college will also have one or more tuition only scholarships available for McNair eligible students.
To have the fee waived, Scholars should submit a letter from the office overseeing the McNair Scholars program at their undergraduate institution, confirming that they participated in that institution's McNair Scholars program. The Scholar's full name and address should be included in the letter.
