Dean's Study Abroad Support Funds

Financial Support for Short-Term Study Abroad

The dean of the College of Arts and Sciences has established a fund to provide financial support for CAS students on short-term Lehigh Study Abroad Programs. The fund is for CAS students approved for a short-term (winter or summer session) and credit bearing courses led by a Lehigh faculty member(s) to enhance their learning experience.

To qualify, students must demonstrate financial need. To apply, the student must submit a one-page letter of request explaining why the study abroad opportunity is important to her or his academic development and speaking to the financial need. A brief memo of endorsement must also be provided from the faculty member leading the study abroad credited course.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis through the year. Application materials (students request and faculty endorsement) must be submitted to Annette McCans, executive secretary to the dean, in the Office of the Dean, 223 Maginnes Hall.

Please note: If the student applying does receive financial support from the CAS Dean, he or she is not permitted to apply for any other additional support funds.  In addition, all applicants must be an active student and any upcoming graduating seniors will not qualify to apply for the Dean's financial support for a short-term study abroad the summer after they graduate.

Best Wishes on your submission...
